Bluethenthal House
Bluethenthal House
Now run as Angies B&B. From their website: The 1917 Bluethenthal Mansion at 1704 Market Street is on the National Register of Historic Places. The brick, two and one-half story, Georgian Revival house was designed by architects James F. Gause, Jr., and James B. Lynch for prominent local business man, Herbert Bluethenthal and his wife Janet. The house sits far back from the street on a large lot. The entrance is particularly well detailed. Centrally located in the five-bay façade, it is composed of an open pediment above a round-arched entrance with flanking sidelights.

Charles Dannenbaum Broker Trial
Charles Dannenbaum Broker Trial
Simultaneous to Charles Dannenbaum's divorce proceedings was this court case, further revealing his character. Although Dannenbaum clearly exaggerates the importance, wealth and influence of his family, his grandfather did own slaves in South (the 1850 census shows four slaves owned by Sam Loupe).

Charles Dannenbaum Divorce Proceedings
Charles and Marguerite Dannenbaum’s sensationalized divorce proceedings were covered by Chicago, San Francisco and Oregon newspapers. Attached are primarily the Chicago Tribune articles, supplemented by a few San Francisco Chronicle articles which help to elucidate the narrative.
