B.S. LENGSFIELD RITES CONDUCTED
Was Founder of Paper Box Manufacturers
Funeral services for Byron S. Lengsfield, president and founder of Lengsfield Brothers, paper box manufacturers, were conducted Friday afternoon from Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp., Inc., with interment in Metairie cemetery.
Mr. Lengsfield died Friday at 3:40 a.m. at Touro Infirmary. He was 56 years old and resided at 1538 Nashville.
A native of Greenville, Miss., he moved to New Orleans when he was a child. He organized the Lengsfield manufacturing company about 30 years ago and was active in the firm until he became ill about two months ago.
Active in civic affairs, Mr. Lengsfield was a member of the Association of Commerce and the Young Men’s Business Club.
Survivors include the widow, the former Miss Ruth Trautman of New Orleans; two sons, Byron S., Jr., and Jack T. Lengsfield; a brother Harry W. Lengsfield and three sisters, Mrs. Blanche Brown and Miss Retta Lengsfield of New Orleans and Mrs. Carrie Loeb of St. Louis.
