Mary Sampson Ellingson Chatsey Obituary

Mrs. Mary Emma Chatsey, 65, 626 Pleasant st., died suddenly Monday night in the Beloit hospital. The former Mary Emma Sampson was born May 20, 1880, at Bergen, Wis., and married in Beloit to Elling Peter Ellingson on Feb. 4, 1899. Mr. Ellingson died in 1913. Several years later Mrs. Ellingson was married to John Chatsey. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran church.


Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Marie Koser of Freeport, and Mrs. Hazel Haase and Mrs. Lorraine Grandeffo, both of Beloit; five sons, Russell, Victor and Harley Ellingson, all of Beloit, Elmer of Chicago, and Roy Sampson, serving in the army.


Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer chapel. The Rev. M.W. Halvorson will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.
