Mrs. Lucy A. Gilbertson, 88 of 1223 11th St., died Friday at her home after a long illness.


She was born Jan. 22, 1896, in Watertown, the daughter of Adolph and Elizabeth Tanck Jaeger. She lived in the Beloit area all her life. She married Albert Engleson in 1919 in Beloit. He died Oct. 4, 1931. She married Lawrence Gilbertson in 1937. He died March 1965. She was a homemaker and member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She was a past member of the auxiliary to the V.F.W. Meade Allen Post 2306.


Survivors include one daughter, Norma (Mrs. Roger) Johnson of Rockford; four sons, Ralph “Bud” Engleson of Beloit Robert Engleson of Pompano Beach, Fla., David Engleson of Sun Prairie, and Larry Gilbertson of Kimberly, Wis.; two step-daughters Dorothy (Mrs. Edward) Laue of Rockford and Vivian (Mrs. Lawrence) Degenhardt of Monroe Center, Ill.; and 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Wuthrich and Mrs. Erna Vander Hagen both of Beloit, and several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Our Savior's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Daniel J. Seidelmann officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the service. Memorials may be made to the church or the Arthritis Foundation. Arrangements were made by Hansen Funeral Home.
